How Damiani Volameter Works

The indicator displays white and green lines. When the white line exceeds the green line, a red signal appears indicating a ranging market. When green exceeds white, the market is trending.

Red Line (Ranging)

White line > Green line - avoid trend strategies, use oscillators

Green Dominant (Trending)

Green line > White line - apply trend-following strategies

Usage Tips

  • Does not indicate trend direction - pair with momentum indicators
  • During ranging: Use stochastics and range-bound strategies
  • During trending: Use moving average crossovers
  • Default settings: Viscosity 7, Sedimentation 50, Threshold 1.1
